what did the early church believe about the resurrection?
how does that shape our thought today?
So, Does N.T. Wright believe in heaven and hell? the last thing he said about new creation sounds like he doesn’t (at least not the orthodox view). What do you believe about the resurrection Mike? Do you believe it is just a ‘bodily’ resurrection, or the ‘whole man’?
hey ryan – thanks for reading. i would suggest reading his book ‘surprised by hope’ for a more in depth understanding of what he’s talking about in these video posts. you can purchase it here :: http://www.amazon.com/Surprised-Hope-Rethinking-Resurrection-Mission/dp/0061551821 || additionally, this video is also helpful :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vggzqXzEvZ0
my understanding of his views are that they are indeed orthodox (though not necessarily traditional in western evangelicalism), particularly as it relates to heaven and hell.
per my own beliefs on the resurrection, i believe both men AND women will be resurrected. 😉
hmm, very interesting, i’ve never encountered someone with that belief before, care to elaborate? :p
